Methods of coating architectural glass

01 FILM FILM - PREPARATION

Before applying the glass film, measure the glass size, and then cut the film according to this data. Check that the film application tools are ready. Wash the kettle thoroughly and fill it with clean water, without sand particles. Add 2 drops of neutral detergent or shower gel, adjust the nozzle to a mist pattern, and ensure that all scrapers are flat and without gaps.

02 Glass Film - Cleaning

Spray water on the glass and thoroughly clean it with a spatula, especially by scraping the edge of the frame a few more times, then wipe the frame clean with a wet towel, and then use large water to wipe and scrape the glass. Repeat for several times for dirty glass until the glass is free of debris, dust, and garbage. Thoroughly clean it, and it will shine brightly.

03 Glass film - water spray

The film is a adhesive backed product that needs to be applied with water spray. After cleaning the glass, a layer of water should be sprayed on the surface of the glass to increase the lubrication between the film and the glass, which is conducive to sliding and driving water behind to squeeze out air, making the film closely match the glass.

04 Glass film - separate

When tearing the protective film, you can use a kettle to spray alcohol mist around the air to solidify some dust in the air, reducing the chance of dust splashing on the construction ground. Peel the protective film with your hands or teeth, starting from one corner, and spray water on the adhesive surface of the film while tearing. Do not allow the film to wrinkle and inadvertently adhere together. Two or more people can operate with enough hands, one person lifting the film, one person tearing the protective film, and spraying water. This process prevents the adhesive surface from touching any object to adhere to dust. The action should be natural and smooth, reducing the time spent in the air, and reducing electrostatic adsorption of dust.

05 Glass film

Place the film completely on the glass, as both the glass and the film are sprayed with detergent water with sliding force. You can completely use your hands to pat, push, and pull it to move it, so that the film completely matches the glass. If you cannot move it, you can tear it open from one corner and spray water again before moving it. After determining the position, use a large water scraper to draw a cross in the middle for preliminary fixation, use a small knife to cut off excess leftovers, spray a little alcohol on the surface of the film, and use a soft scraper to drive out the water between the film and the glass. The method is to scrape a half of the place on the next scraping joint, so that the water is not easy to leak, and slowly scrape out the water with a steady force. If there are bubbles or bulges in the film, it is necessary to press hard.
