Visible light transmittance and reflectance
The visible light transmittance of the front windshield is very important and needs to be clearly observed. According to Article 11 of the Technical Conditions for Motor Vehicle Operation Safety: All films must ensure the driver's front and side vision, and the visible light transmittance of the front windshield and other glass used in the driver's visual area shall not be less than 70%.
If the transmittance of the purchased solar film is less than 70%, not only will it fail the annual review, but it will also affect driving safety, especially at night and on rainy days. In addition, the transmittance of the glass itself is not 100%, so it is best for the transmittance of the front windshield to be greater than 75%.
Visible light reflectance: This is important but easily overlooked. Simply put, the solar film is not completely transparent, and when light passes through it, a portion of visible light will be reflected.
For example, when driving at night, if the reading lights are on inside the car, there will be reflections on the front windshield and windows. If the visible light reflectivity of the solar film is higher, the reflection will be more severe, which will affect both the rearview mirror and the front windshield.
Which type of film is most suitable for buying
1. Dyeing film - not recommended: poor performance, almost eliminated.
2. Metal film - divided into two types according to the process, vacuum thermal evaporation metal film and vacuum magnetron sputtering metal film. The performance of magnetron sputtering metal films is relatively better. But it should be noted that some metal films can block ETC and mobile phone signals.
The journal "Performance Testing and Evaluation of Thermal Insulation Films" indicates that the metal layer of the metal film is relatively thick and can to some extent block communication signals.
3. Ceramic film - not only can achieve ideal thermal insulation, but also effectively solve problems such as oxidation and metal shielding. Compared with metal film, its service life is also longer, generally around 8 years.
