Fish stocking density

The stocking density used in various regions should be tailored to the local conditions of the pond. For farmers who first adopt the 80:20 pond fish farming technology, the weight of the main fish harvested per acre of water surface shall not exceed the following limits:

① In ponds with limited oxygenation and inability to flush, the weight of the fish is set at 167 kilograms.

② In ponds with unrestricted oxygenation and limited flushing, the weight of the fish is set at 267 kilograms.

③ In ponds with unrestricted aeration and flushing, the weight of the fish is set at 400 kilograms.

④ The total weight of fish produced in ponds of categories a, b, and c, along with 20% of the weight of fish, is 209 kilograms, 333 kilograms, and 400 kilograms, respectively.

⑤ If the average size of fish released from the pond is 500 grams, the total number of fish released for aquaculture in categories a, b, and c is 418, 666, and 800, respectively. Among them, primary fish farming accounts for 80%, and complementary fish farming accounts for 20%.

Raising and Management of Fish in Ponds

Good management is an important factor for successful farming. The ultimate goal of aquaculture is to maximize profits. The maximum profit is achieved by maintaining a balance between production costs and the quality and quantity of fish species, feed quality and feed volume, and environmental quality. Scientific breeding management can be summarized in the following eight aspects:

① Regularly patrol the pond, observe the dynamics of fish schools in the pond, and patrol the pond in the morning, middle, and evening every day. Before dawn, observe whether fish have floating heads and the degree of floating heads; During the day, bait feeding and water temperature measurement can be combined to check fish activity and feeding conditions. During the hot season and sudden weather changes, fish are prone to severe floating heads. It is also necessary to patrol the pond around midnight to promptly stop severe floating heads and prevent flooding.

② Weeding and decontamination, maintaining fresh water quality and clean pond environment, and timely preventing and removing diseases.

③ Master the water injection and drainage of ponds, maintain an appropriate amount of water, prevent flooding and drought, and prevent fish from escaping according to the situation_ Inject water once every 15 days to supplement evaporation consumption, providing fish with ample and comfortable activity space and a good living environment.

④ Determine the feeding amount based on the weather, water temperature, season, water quality, fish growth and feeding situation, and promptly carry out disease prevention work.

⑤ Budget and allocate the annual demand for feed and fertilizer.

⑥ Reasonably use fishing machinery such as aerators and bait feeders, and do a good job in maintenance and electricity usage.

⑦ Pay attention to the market situation, arrange for the pond to be cleared in a timely manner, and if conditions permit, do a good job of rotating capture and release.
