What Is The PVC Material

PVC material is a kind of plastic decorative material, it is the short for PVC material. PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride, PVC) resin is a thermoplastic polymer made from vinyl chloride monomer (Vinyl Chloride Monomer, short for short). It is made of polyvinyl chloride resin as the main raw material, adding a proper amount of antiaging agent, modifier, and so on. It is made by mixing, calendering and vacuum drawing. PVC is an amorphous polymer containing a crystallite of 5%--10% of crystallinity (175 degrees of melting point). The physical properties such as molecular weight, crystallinity and softening point of PVC change with polymerization conditions (temperature). PVC resin was used as the base material and mixed with stabilizers, plasticizers, fillers, coloring agents, modifier and other auxiliaries to plasticized and formed PVC resin plastics. PVC materials are characterized by light weight, heat insulation, thermal insulation, moisture resistance, flame retardancy and simple construction. Specifications, colors and patterns are various, and they are very decorative. They are widely used in production and life. For example, PVC water pipes, PVC plastic doors and windows, and plastic toys containing PVC, wires and cables. Because of its harm to the human body, Europe, Japan and South Korea and other countries have limited the products with PVC as raw materials. The outstanding advantages of the general PVC resin plastic products are refractory, wear-resistant, chemical corrosion resistance and low gas leakage. In addition, the comprehensive mechanical energy, transparent products, electrical insulation, heat insulation, noise elimination and shock absorption are the most versatile materials with the best price ratio. The defect is poor thermal stability and impact resistance, whether hard or soft PVC is prone to brittle during the use. The general PVC contains two (2 - ethyl hexyl) adipate (DEHA) plasticizer which is not allowed to be used by the relevant national standards. DEHA is easily released at high temperature (over 100 degrees centigrade) and is harmful to health after exposure to the human body. Because PVC is a rigid plastic, it is necessary to add a lot of plasticizers to soften it. Plasticizers are easily released in the heated environment. If DEHA is used, it will interfere with human endocrine, cause breast cancer, neonatal birth defects, reduce the number of male sperm, and even mental illness.
